Who we are
Distinkt Studios Inc. operates this website and is responsible for the personal data described in this notice. Our privacy contact is listed at the end of this page.
What we collect
Browsing the site: our hosting services may process connection and request details, including your IP address, requested pages and files, request time and browser information. These support website delivery, security and troubleshooting. We do not run visitor analytics or advertising; browser storage is described in the Cookie Notice.
Sending an enquiry: which route you are enquiring about (a custom build or implementation, or access to a platform suite), your name, email address, company or project name, your timing, your role in the decision and, optionally, your current website; for a custom engagement also the services you are interested in, your project goal and an initial project budget band, and for platform access your intended use and the platforms you are interested in (Cards, Social, Host or Post, as expressions of interest). We also record the enquiry time and a one-way hash of your IP address for abuse limiting. A security check evaluates technical browser signals and issues a short-lived verification token; it does not guarantee that a submission is genuine. Amounts are in US dollars; budget bands are a guide for scoping, not a quote.
Why we use it and on what basis
Responding to your enquiry: we use what you send to review the request and contact you about it. Where European data-protection law applies, this is processing needed to take steps at your request before any contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)); your tick on the enquiry form confirms we may contact you about that enquiry. Under Canadian law (PIPEDA), you give that consent when you send the form.
Keeping the site and the enquiry service secure and available: operational logs, request verification and abuse limiting support our legitimate interest in running a reliable, protected service (GDPR Article 6(1)(f), where applicable). We do not use those functions for advertising.
We do not add enquiry details to marketing lists or use automated decision-making to accept or decline projects. Enquiry-contact permission, cookie preferences and the reel’s sound control are separate choices; none implies another.
Service providers
We use technology service providers for website hosting and content delivery, security and bot protection, enquiry processing and data storage, and business email delivery and mailboxes. They receive the information relevant to those services. Our team uses enquiries to review requests and respond. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
Our infrastructure service providers include businesses based in the United States that operate internationally. Provider identities, service roles and processing locations are kept in our internal register. You may request information about the recipients of your personal data through our privacy contact; we provide it as required by applicable law. The browser security provider is identified below because it receives technical information directly from your browser.
Processing locations and international transfers
Information may be processed outside Canada, including in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. It may then be subject to those countries’ laws and lawful access by their courts, law-enforcement or national-security authorities. A website server’s location does not describe every location used for security, storage, support or email processing.
For processing covered by our cloud providers’ data-processing terms, those terms provide international-transfer protections, including recognised adequacy mechanisms or Standard Contractual Clauses and UK transfer provisions where applicable. The mechanism depends on the provider, the transfer and the law that applies. You may contact our privacy address for information about the safeguards relevant to your personal data and how to obtain a copy.
How long we keep it
Our retention policy is twelve calendar months from submission for enquiries that do not become projects, and thirty days for submissions identified as spam. These periods also apply to copies of enquiry notifications. Client project records are managed under separate retention requirements. You may contact us to request deletion, subject to applicable legal obligations.
Copies and logs: database cleanup and notification-copy handling in our team mailbox are separate processes. The enquiry service keeps short technical logs that contain reference numbers but not your answers; the database provider keeps point-in-time backups for a limited period; hosting access logs are kept by the provider for its standard period. Deleting an enquiry from the database also removes its notification queue entries, but does not itself delete copies already delivered to a mailbox. Privacy requests cover those copies as well.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and withdraw any consent you have given (withdrawing does not affect what was done before). Where European or UK law applies you also have the right to restrict processing and to data portability. Use the privacy contact below; we will confirm your identity in a proportionate way and reply within the time the applicable law allows.
If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to a supervisory authority: in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada; in the European Economic Area, the data-protection authority of the country where you live; in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when the site or the services behind it change. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes to how enquiries are handled are reflected here before they take effect.
